Numerical Modelling using MIKE

Water Solutions is proud to announce the introduction of numerical modelling using cutting edge and globally recognized DHI’s software MIKE for the first time in Maldives. Since the founding of Water solutions in 2005, it has been our dream to introduce numerical modelling.  Numerical modelling has been introduced as an pwoerful tool for finding solutions to coastal engineering problems facing the small islands of the Maldives.

Water Solutions has the field measurement capability on the marine and coastal environment of the islands and technical experts with wide understanding of coastal processes as well as modelling expertise to enable the effective application of numerical modelling techniques as a tool for our coastal environment consultancy service.

Numerical modelling will be utilized to understand the complex dynamic of the coastal environment of our small islands, carry out research and provide solutions to the beach erosion problem in the context of climate change and sea level rise scenarios for the Maldives.

Currently numerical modelling is being used to provide input variables required by simulation models and yield visualization and analysis of output data. With the vast amount of data available at Water solutions, the models created become accurate and become an important tool to provide integrated solutions to the management of the beach at resort islands and inhabited islands.

Today we have taken a huge step towards improving the accuracy and optimizing the way we carry out coastal protection and other offshore construction works in the Maldives. We are excited to show our clients the capabilities that Mike 21 has to offer.
